Nine men arrested in Hernando unlicensed contracting sting

9 accused of being unlicensed contractors

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office arrested nine men during an unlicensed contracting sting last week.

Deputies say they first identified the suspects because the men were advertising services that required licenses.

An undercover investigator then contacted the men and asked for the work to be done. When the men showed up at the prearranged site and gave estimates for the jobs, they were arrested on charges of fraud.

The men charged, according to deputies, were: Ronald Kaye, 33; Sergio Marcano-Padilla, 58; William O'Reilly, 42; Peter Spadola, 54; Thomas Marciano, 50; Todd Mack, 47; Douglas Gioglio, 48; Frank Palazzo, 44, and Mark Belkola, 53.
