BRANDON — No funeral arrangements have been made yet for the two children who were brought to Brandon Regional Hospital apparently lifeless Thursday afternoon, according to the St. Petersburg pastor who counseled the family.
Rev. Nate Drayton of Unity Christian Church said Saturday the family was not ready to make a public statement about the deaths of 17-month-old Dionna Ervin and 5-month old Kaden Warren.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said the children's father, Michael Jon Ervin, 26, of 3807 Ridge View Place in Valrico, brought the children into the hospital unconscious, unresponsive and not breathing at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Both children had high body temperatures, but the results of the autopsies completed by the Hillsborough County medical examiner have not been released. The Sheriff's Office says it is still investigating to determine if a crime was committed.
Florida's Department of Children and Families has opened an investigation into the children's father and mother, 24-year-old Enidlin Warren.
