One shot in face after neighbor quarrel in Tampa

TAMPA ­— An argument between neighbors on Thursday night turned violent when one produced a gun and shot the other in the face before fleeing, police said.

William B. Alvarez, 26, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital Thursday night. Friday morning, police said he was in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2100 block Of Rambla Street W. around 10 p.m. Thursday night, where they learned about the escalation of the squabble.

Police said David Eric Britt argued with Alvarez before going into his house and returning with a handgun. They continued to argue, and then Britt shot Alvarez, accordign to police.

Witnesses and neighbors told police that there have been ongoing incidents between the two.
