Palm Harbor man accused of sexually assaulting underage girls

PALM HARBOR — A 43-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting two underage girls was arrested Wednesday night, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.

John Gerald Wilson of Palm Harbor faces two counts of sexual battery.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the victims, who are now 17 and 18 years of age, were sexually abused by Wilson when one girl was 16 and the other was between 10 and 18 years old. He knew both victims.

Wilson was booked into the Pinellas County jail, where he remained Thursday in lieu of $120,000 bail.

    The Pinellas County Commission has granted St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman's request to dedicate millions more toward the city's new pier.
