HOLIDAY — A 10-month-old girl was attacked by her family's dog at their home at 3104 Primrose Drive in Holiday Lake Estates on Sunday, according to Pasco County Animal Services.

The girl's wounds were "very serious," said Kevin Mallory, supervisor for Animal Services. "They weren't certain if the child was going to make it or not."

The 5-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix named Louie is being held under quarantine at the Pasco animal shelter. Mallory said the dog was not neutered.

Animal Control and the Pasco County Sheriff's Office are both investigating the incident. The child's updated condition was not available Thursday. Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said the child's parents drove the girl to the hospital themselves. No one answered at the house Thursday.
