Pasco deputies investigating after violent home invasion sends two to hospital

MOON LAKE — Detectives are investigating a violent home invasion that sent two people to the hospital Friday night, one with serious injuries.

Pasco County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to 13124 Midvale Ave., where they found a 44-year-old man tied up inside the home with a laceration to his head, authorities said.

A neighbor told deputies that he had earlier spotted two women and a man loading furniture from the home into the back of the homeowner's van, officials said. When the neighbor, a 70-year-old man, approached to ask what they were doing, one of the trio hit him on the head with a baseball bat. The three then got in the van and fled the area.

The neighbor and the homeowner were both taken to a local hospital. Their names and conditions were not immediately released.

The van stolen van is described as a 2000 white Ford bearing a tag number of 366 TQH. Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact the Pasco County Sheriff's Office at (727) 844-7711.
