Pasco deputies investigating death of man in burning car

NEW PORT RICHEY — Authorities are still working to identify the person whose body was found early Sunday morning in a burning car in Moon Lake Estates.

The victim was a male, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, which has classified the case as a homicide. No further information was available, and no one has been charged.

Pasco Fire Rescue crews were called out at 1:44 a.m. Sunday to a car fire near Joyner Avenue and Helena Street. They discovered a body inside the car, which had been set on fire near a trash heap in the woods.
