Pasco deputies search for robber who forgot his cigarettes

NEW PORT RICHEY — Deputies are searching for a man who robbed a 7-Eleven at knifepoint last week, then drove off with the stolen cartons of cigarettes still sitting on top of his trunk.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office has posted video from the robbery.

The man entered the store at 6315 Rowan Road about 4:30 a.m. Oct. 15. Armed with a large butcher knife, the man demanded money and cigarettes and threatened to stab the clerk if she did not comply, the Sheriff's Office said.

The robber went behind the counter and took money from the cash register, as well as four cartons of Marlboro cigarettes from a storage cabinet. When he left the store, he placed the cartons on the trunk of his car — then sped away, causing the cartons to fall to the ground.

The suspect was described as a white man in his early to mid-20s, wearing a black hat and blue jeans shorts. He drove a two-door red Pontiac.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Lisa Schoneman toll-free at 1-800-854-2862 ext. 7473 or the Pasco Sheriff's Office Crime Tipsline at 1-800-706-2488.
