Pasco High School hit by spray painting, super gluing vandals

DADE CITY — It was hard for Pasco High School officials to miss the prank.

The walls of the common area in the center of campus were spray painted with "ZHS" and "2013." There were toothpicks super glued in the door locks. Windows of a car in the parking lot were shattered, and the vehicle was tagged.

Dade City police were investigating the vandalism Friday after officials called it in about 6 a.m., said Capt. David Duff.

He said it looks more like a high-school prank and not anything more serious. He noted "ZHS" likely stands for Zephyrhills High School.

Monica Ilse, a district learning community executive director, said students were held in the stadium while police investigated, but they were back in class by 8:30 a.m.

"The staff at Pasco High has come together. They worked really hard to clean up as much as they could," Ilse said.
