Pasco man, 45, accused of raping 16-year-old

LAND O'LAKES

A 45-year-old man is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl.

Jose A. Reyes, a self-employed lawn service operator, picked up the girl at a park on Collier Parkway at 4 p.m. Aug. 12, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

The girl told authorities Reyes molested her in his car and drove her to his residence, where he forced her to have sex. Reyes said the intercourse was consensual.

Reyes, of 3716 Golden Eagle Drive in Land O'Lakes, was arrested Monday and charged with sexual battery. He was released from the Pasco County Jail that night on $10,000 bail.
