Pasco man accused of assaulting elderly woman in her home

HUDSON — A man was arrested Monday morning after deputies say he assaulted an elderly woman in her home.

Deputies say Richard Podosowski, 52, entered the woman's home in Hudson and attacked her in her bedroom. She told deputies that she has known Podosowski for two years.

The woman was injured in the mouth and had her undergarments torn, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report. She ran from the home to dial 911. When deputies arrived, they found Podosowski still in the house, the report said. He was arrested on one count of battery against a person 65 or older.

The woman, who is in her 80s, was not identified because she is a potential victim of sexual abuse. Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said there could be more charges filed against Podosowski.

Podosowski was released Monday evening after posting a $5,000 bail.
