NEW PORT RICHEY — The woman told officers that Theodore Mazanek punched her twice — once in the face, once in the mouth — during an argument Sunday evening. He ran out of the house they share on Elm Street when the woman, who is the mother of Mazanek's two children, called the police, a report states.
Officers found the 45-year-old man at the Cotee River Lounge. He was arrested and charged with domestic battery.
Mazanek spent a day in jail, then went to the New Port Richey Police Department on Thursday morning to have an officer escort him to his house to get his stuff — a common practice in domestic cases when suspects and victims aren't supposed to have contact.
Mazanek opened the door "and noticed his residence was empty," the report states.
His four televisions were gone. His furniture, appliances, cell phone, work tools, all missing. Mazanek had been cleaned out.
Mazanek told officers he left the property in the care of his ex-girlfriend — Jessica E. Reinmiller, 32, whose address is the same as Mazanek's. Capt. Jeffrey Harrington of the New Port Richey Police Department would not say if Reinmiller was the victim in the domestic battery case.
At first, Reinmiller told officers the house was broken into while Mazanek was incarcerated, the report states.
Then, after awhile, she said this:
"You're damn right I got rid of everything," the police report said.
"She was very upset and this was a way to get back at him," Harrington said.
He said Reinmiller took $6,500 worth of Mazanek's belongings — some she sold, some she gave away, some she trashed. Mazanek recovered one television, a toaster and some furniture, the report said.
Reinmiller was arrested and charged with grand theft.
She's being held at the Pasco County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
