Pasco man accused of whacking neighbor with lawn trimmer

NEW PORT RICHEY — A dispute between neighbors over a lawn trimmer landed one of the men in jail, authorities said.

Jonathan O'Neill Browne, 50, asked his Longleaf neighbor on Wednesday to stop using the trimmer, but the neighbor refused, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report.

So Browne went to his home at 3535 Town Ave., retrieved a broom, and went back across the street to hit his neighbor with it, the report said. Then Browne wrested the trimmer away and struck his neighbor with it, the report said.

Browne, who listed his occupation as a computer programmer, took the trimmer home with him, the report said. Deputies arrested him on a charge of strong arm robbery. He has been released from the Land O'Lakes jail on $10,000 bail.
