Pasco park manager accused of pocketing tenants' rent

WESLEY CHAPEL — A 35-year-old mobile home park manager was arrested Thursday after the park's owners discovered she had pocketed more than $5,000 in tenants' rent money, authorities said.

The owners of River Haven Mobile Home & RV Park began noticing that a few long-term tenants were behind on their rent this spring, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report. But the tenants had the receipts to prove they had paid — in cash, to the park manager, Amanda Bourque.

Bourque, who as the park manager rented vacant units and collected rent money from tenants, admitted she had taken rent money for personal use, the report said.

Bourque, of 6636 Mangrove Drive in Wesley Chapel, has been charged with scheme to defraud. She is being held at Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
