Pasco teen faces attempted murder charge

DADE CITY — A teenager faces attempted murder and gun charges after, authorities said, he shot and injured a man Saturday night.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Kiyondre Redfield, 16, of Zephyrhills and two others approached the victim about 10:30 p.m. behind a Dade City home. Redfield fired, the Sheriff's Office said, and struck the victim in the abdomen, buttocks and left leg.

The Sheriff's Office said the victim, David Hernandez, 21, of Dade City suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Redfield was arrested on one count of attempted murder and one count of carrying a concealed weapon, the Sheriff's Office said. He was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
