NEW PORT RICHEY — Matthew Dale Rockwell learned Friday that his work hours would be cut at the Wendy's on State Road 54. So he confronted his boss, landing a punch that cut his boss' lip and knocked him to the ground, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report.

By the time deputies arrived at the scene, Rockwell was gone, the report said. But two witnesses told deputies that Rockwell said he was sorry and wished he hadn't done such thing.

Rockwell, 21, of New Port Richey, was arrested Saturday on a charge of simple battery. He was released from the Land O'Lakes jail on $150 bail.

His arrest report says he is now unemployed.
