PINELLAS PARK — Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who they said robbed a convenience store at gunpoint Friday.

About 10 p.m., a white man wearing a Minnesota Vikings jersey entered Park Food Mart, 6328 Park Blvd. He picked up a beer and handed over money as if to pay for it.

But when the drawer popped open, police said, he pointed a black handgun at the cashier and demanded money. He took the cash and ran.

Police do not know if he left in a vehicle. A police dog found his black pellet gun on the ground near the store.

Police are looking for a white man with a dark complexion in his late 20s or 30s, 6 feet tall, 160 to 180 pounds. He has shaved dark hair with a receding hair line. He was wearing a No. 12 Vikings jersey, athletic shorts with stripes on the sides and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detective Michael Lynch at (727) 214-7822.
