Pinellas Park police seek help identifying attacker

PINELLAS PARK — Police are still seeking help from the public to figure out who attacked a 63-year-old man Monday morning while he was working outside an apartment building.

Donald McPherson, of St. Petersburg, remained in critical condition Wednesday at Bayfront Medical Center, police said. He was working outside building No. 8 about 11 a.m. Monday at the Lauren Manor Apartments, at 7450 35th St. N, when someone hit him on the head with a blunt object.

The attacker, who has not been identified, fled the scene, police said.

The apartment complex has offered a reward for information that leads to the attacker's arrest and conviction, police said.

Anyone with information can call Detective Michael Erwin of the Pinellas Park Police Department at (727) 541-0883. Tips can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 873-TIPS.
