Deputies: Man killed on stolen dirt bike

A Plant City man who stole a dirt bike died after losing control of it and hitting a guard rail, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Tyease N. Thompson, 27, of 2211 Hollomon Road, was riding a 2008 Honda motorcycle at high speed on Joe King Road near Nesmith Road just before 7 p.m. Friday, according to deputies.

Thompson, authorities say, failed to make a curve and veered off the road. He was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.

The motorcycle was earlier reported stolen in Hillsborough County. It has since been returned to its owner.
