Plant City shooting suspect arrested Saturday

PLANT CITY — The suspect in a Friday morning shooting at a home in Plant City was arrested Saturday, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

A caller to 911 reported just after 9 a.m. Friday that a man had been shot at 3421 Sam Astin Road, authorities said.

Officials on Friday named Ricardo Ocegueda Jr., 25, as the suspect.

He was arrested in Plant City at 1:34 p.m. Saturday and booked into the Hillsborough County jail.

The shooting was domestic-related and not random, authorities said.

The victim was in serious condition Friday, the Sheriff's Office said.

Ocegueda is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
