Police arrest maintenance worker in burglary at Clearwater condo complex

CLEARWATER — A maintenance worker at Harborage Condos II is accused of using a master key to break into a home and steal cash.

Kevin R. Reed, 44, of Oldsmar was arrested just after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the condo complex, 240 Sand Key Estates Drive.

Clearwater Police said Reed was captured on a home security video system while inside the condo. The residents, who were not identified, contacted police after reviewing the video. Reed has been arrested and charged with burglary.

Officials warned that Reed may have committed other burglaries in a similar fashion. An investigation into other possible thefts is under way.

Reed was released from Pinellas County Jail about 7 a.m. Thursday after posting $10,000 bail.
