CLEARWATER — Police officers have arrested a Clearwater man and accused him of calling in a bomb threat to Morton Plant Hospital late Wednesday.

Gerald Lemmon, 48, was taken into custody Friday on a charge of threatening to discharge a destructive device.

Lemmon made the threat, Clearwater police said, after being released from the hospital Wednesday night. He was angry, Lemmon told officers after his arrest, because hospital staff wouldn't give him food and narcotics. Staff discharged him about an hour before the threat was made, officials said.

Officers located Lemmon late Friday near the intersection of Court Street and Fort Harrison Avenue. He was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail Saturday night in Pinellas County jail.
