ST. PETERSBURG — A St. Petersburg credit union was robbed Wednesday afternoon, and police arrested a suspect shortly afterward.
The Achieva Credit Union office at 413 62nd Ave. N was robbed by a man who gave a teller a threatening note demanding money, St. Petersburg police said. Police responded about 1:30 p.m.
The man didn't have a weapon.
A witness reported seeing a man run from the bank after the robbery to the El Patio Motel, 6733 Fourth St. N. Officers arrested the suspect there without a fight, police said.
Police did not immediately release the suspect's name.
