TAMPA — Police arrested a man Monday on a charge he robbed a bank a week earlier in west Tampa.

Anthony Nelson Cruzado, 29, was taken into custody early after he was spotted at Club Viva, 4235 N Armenia Ave., in northwest Tampa, according to police.

Police say Cruzado implied he was armed when he approached a bank teller July 26 at the Florida Central Credit Union, 3333 Henderson Blvd. He threatened to hurt the teller, according to police, unless he was given money from a register. He fled on foot, according to police.

Cruzado also stole a car from a Mercedes Benz dealership. He's been charged with armed robbery and may also face charges related to grand theft and a second robbery.

He was being held without bond Monday in the Hillsborough County jail.
