ST. PETERSBURG — St. Petersburg police arrested a suspect Thursday in the robberies of two banks this week.

Erik Michael Durkin, 30, was in custody Thursday morning. Police said he took cash from a SunTrust bank at 3601 34th St. N on Monday and a TD Bank at 425 22nd Ave. N on Tuesday.

Authorities arrested him in Pinellas Park.

The arrest follows a string of robberies at St. Petersburg banks. Police arrested another suspect Wednesday in connection with two other bank robberies.

Police said Durkin doesn't appear to be connected to the other robberies. He was being held Thursday in the Pinellas County Jail on $110,000 bail.
