Police: Body found in Tarpon Springs park after shot heard

TARPON SPRINGS — A body was found Wednesday morning at Anderson Park after a caller reported a sound similar to a gunshot, police said.

The dead man was found unresponsive on a bench near the boat ramp after a boater called authorities at 9:20 a.m. to report the sound, police said. Tarpon Springs police detectives have responded, but the victim's next of kin hasn't been notified.
