TAMPA — Police charged a woman with child neglect Saturday after they found her 7-year-old son living among beer cans, cigarette cartons and bugs, according to an arrest report.
Tampa police and child protection investigators went to the home of Arabela Baluta, 28, Saturday afternoon and found bugs crawling out of the refrigerator and oven, the report said. The food in the refrigerator was spoiled and there was no place for the boy to sleep.
Baluta, of 2901 N Boulevard, was taken to the Orient Road Jail where she remained Sunday afternoon on $7,500 bail.
