Police: Holiday teen stole money, cigarettes from man who was hit by car

Man struck by car, robbed while on street

NEW PORT RICHEY — After a driver hit a man Wednesday evening with a 1993 Lincoln Town Car, a passenger in the car, Stephen James Naples, 18, got out of the vehicle, rushed to the injured man lying on Gulf Drive and stole $140 and a pack of Newport cigarettes the victim had in his back pocket, according to New Port Richey Police.

The victim suffered injuries to his foot, hand and arm, a report states. The driver is still at large.

Naples, of 3441 Woodcock Drive in Holiday, was arrested later Wednesday evening and charged with robbery with a deadly weapon. Naples and the victim knew each other before the attack, the report states.

Naples is being held at the Pasco jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
