A Largo man was arrested Thursday on charges he sexually battered a woman while her children slept nearby.

According to an arrest affidavit a woman awoke to find Michael Lawrence Jordan, 48, having sex with her without her consent after the two drank alcohol together Wednesday night.

The report states the woman's two young children were also sleeping in the bed with her. Jordan admitted to having sex with her without her consent during an interview, police said.

Jordan was charged with sexual battery of a physically helpless person and booked into the Pinellas County Jail, where he remained Friday.
