Police look for man who robbed St. Petersburg pizzeria

ST. PETERSBURG — Police are looking for a man who robbed a pizza parlor at gunpoint Monday.

Police said the robbery happened about 1:45 p.m. at Papa John's Pizza, 5000 34th St. S.

A man armed with a silver handgun entered the business, grabbed the lone clerk and demanded cash. The clerk gave him money from the register and was forced to get under a desk in a back office.

The suspect was last seen heading west across 34th Street S. No vehicle was seen.

Police described him as black, between 30 and 40 years old, 5 feet 10 to 6 feet, and about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a camouflage baseball cap, brownish-green shirt with an unidentified design on the front and back, dark pants and white shoes.
