Police: Man used syringe to rob Tampa Subway after ordering sandwich

TAMPA — A man ordered a sandwich at a Subway restaurant Saturday evening then threatened the cashier with a syringe and demanded cash, police reported.

Police are still looking for the man, who walked into the Subway at 5502 S Dale Mabry Highway at 8:19 p.m., according to a Tampa Police Department report. He ordered a sandwich and approached the register.

He pulled a syringe out of his pocket, threatened to use it on the cashier and demanded cash, according to the report.

The man appears to be white, 19 to 24, about 6 feet tall, with dark hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt, dark shorts and prescription glasses. He has tattoos on his right forearm.

Police ask anyone with information to call toll-free 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
