A 38-year-old man died Tuesday after he was shot near Highland Avenue during a possible robbery, police said. Officers responded to 1486 Overlea St. just after 11 a.m. and found a wounded Justin Austin, who was flown to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he died. A second man, who was not shot, was taken to Morton Plant Hospital with unknown injuries, Clearwater police said. Detectives believe the shooting may have occurred during a home invasion robbery. Two men may have fled in a maroon-colored car. People gathered outside the crime scene tape Tuesday declined comment.
