Police: Pasco repairman stole $38,000 in copper parts

NEW PORT RICHEY — A former employee of an air conditioning company is accused of stealing about $38,000 in copper piping and other parts.

Joseph Daniel Williams worked for All Star Heating and Air Conditioning Co. until this week, when his bosses suspected he was using the corporate account to order copper piping and other components from Gem-Air. Williams then sold those parts for money, the New Port Richey Police Department said.

Williams, 30, of New Port Richey, told police he used the money for his drug addictions.

He was arrested Wednesday and charged with scheme to defraud. He remained Friday at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Police found about $5,000 in parts at Williams' home and returned them to the business.
