Police release video of man who robbed St. Petersburg Walgreens

ST. PETERSBURG — St. Petersburg police released video Tuesday of a suspect who robbed a Walgreens on Christmas Eve and is believed to be armed.

At 2:43 a.m. Dec. 24, the robber went to the Walgreens at 5420 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N with his shirt covering his face. As he walked through the door, the shirt fell from his face in clear view of the surveillance camera, police said.

He then implied that he had a weapon in his shirt sleeve and demanded an undisclosed amount of money from the store clerk.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect, a 20- to 30-year-old, 270-pound man, around 5 feet 10, with a buzz cut and possibly a tattoo on the left side of his neck.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Petersburg police robbery unit at (727) 893-7179 or the Confidential Tip Line at (727) 892-5000. People can also text a tip to (727) 420-8911.
