Police seek gunman who held up bartender, patron at Tampa bar

TAMPA — A man walked into a bar with a gun Tuesday night and tried to rob it and one of its patrons, police said.

The gunman, who has not been identified, remains at large.

Donald Dusky, 49, the bartender at Club 2606, noticed a man walk in and reach over the counter, apparently to steal a bottle of liquor, about 11:50 p.m.

Dusky went to confront the man, who pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him, police said.

The man demanded money from the register, but the bartender ran to the phone and dialed 911, officials said.

That's when the gunman turned his weapon on a customer, demanding the patron's wallet, police said. But the man said he had no money. Empty-handed, the gunman fled,

Police were working with the owner of the club, at 2606 N Armenia Ave., to review surveillance video from the property.
