TAMPA — A Bank of America teller conspired with a friend to rob the bank of more than $100,000 on Tuesday, according to police.
At about noon, Marcus Ryan Halbert, 22, went to the Bank of America at 10200 N Florida Ave. and pointed a knife at his friend, Alan Michael Ethington, 21, police say.
Halbert took $103,000 in the staged robbery and fled.
Police quickly caught him and Halbert told them that he and Ethington had planned the robbery, according to an arrest affidavit.
Police say they found text messages and phone calls between the two.

Halbert, who also faces drug possession charges, remained in jail Wednesday in lieu of $5,000 bail. Ethington remained in jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
