Police use DNA to link Holiday man to Clearwater burglary

CLEARWATER — A 31-year-old Holiday man accused of stealing more than $10,000 worth of property from a Clearwater home in September was arrested late Tuesday, police say.

Clearwater police say that Michael J. Seeders smashed out the front door window of a home in the 2900 block of Bethany Place at about 3 p.m. Sept. 16. No one was home. Once inside, he took more than $10,000 worth of jewelry, purses and electronics. DNA found in the master bedroom of the home matched his.

Seeders was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on Tuesday on charges related to grand theft and burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. Bail was set at $12,000.
