PORT RICHEY — A 27-year-old man was charged with aggravated domestic battery after authorities said he punched his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach.
Chase Newman's girlfriend was three weeks pregnant with his child when he threw her against a wall and briefly choked her during an argument about 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. He punched her twice in the stomach before fleeing, authorities said.
Newman admitted to choking and punching her, and told deputies that his girlfriend made him mad because he said she stole his computer, the report said.
His girlfriend was taken to Morton Plant North Bay Hospital with vaginal bleeding, authorities said.
Newman remained Thursday at the Land O'Lakes jail without bail.
