GULFPORT — A professional wrestler was arrested early Sunday after police said he pinned his girlfriend to the bed by her neck and held her in a room against her will, according to an arrest report.

Thomas R. Latimer, 29, faces charges of false imprisonment and domestic battery by strangulation. He wrestles for TNA Impact Wrestling under the stage name Bram.

Gulfport police responded to 3205 58th St. S #105 at 6 a.m. Sunday. Latimer and his live-in girlfriend had been arguing, an officer wrote, before the altercation became physical. When the woman told Latimer she wanted to leave, he barred her — a charge Latimer admitted to police, according to the arrest report.

The wrestling company said in a statement that it has indefinitely suspended Latimer, who is originally from England.

"The charges against Thomas Latimer are serious, and he is immediately and indefinitely suspended from any future TNA-sanctioned events awaiting the outcome of the case," said John Gaburick, the wrestling outfit's executive vice president of television and talent.

Latimer was booked in the Pinellas County jail.
