Robber sticks up downtown St. Pete bank

ST. PETERSBURG — Police are looking for a man who robbed a downtown bank on Wednesday afternoon.

The man, described as a white male in his 20s, 5'6" and 140 pounds, walked into the Florida Bank at 500 Fourth St. N at about 3:40 p.m., police said. He handed the teller a note demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said he may have gotten away in a newer model, red Toyota Camry or Corolla. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, a baseball hat with blue trim, black gloves and sunglasses. He also had what might have been a bandage on his upper lip.
