Sarasota man arrested in Pinellas Internet sex sting

A Sarasota man was arrested in an internet sex sting after he drove to Pinellas County on Tuesday, looking to have sex with a mother and her two underage daughters, authorities said.

Timothy Scott Bidwell, 48, of 3609 71st Terrace E, was arrested about 2 p.m. Tuesday on charges of traveling to meet a minor and using a computer for a prohibited service.

Authorities said they got a tip Monday about an online classified personal ad looking for a mother willing to "share" a daughter.

Undercover detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office responded and quickly got a reply from Bidwell with "strong sexual language," officials said.

Bidwell requested a meeting with detectives, who were posing as a mother with daughters under the ages of 16 and 12, and they arranged to get together in north Pinellas County, authorities said.

Authorities say when Bidwell arrived at the undisclosed location, he was arrested and taken to the Pinellas County Jail, where he remained Tuesday night in lieu of $15,000 bail.
