Second suspect identified in killing at North Tampa apartment complex

TAMPA — Sheriff's deputies have identified and located a second suspect in the killing of a man whose body was found in a North Tampa apartment complex courtyard last week.

Leon Lomax II, 20, of Tampa, is to be charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. A warrant for Lomax has been sent to Volusia County, where he is in jail, the Sheriff's Office said.

Along with another suspect, 18-year-old Demetrick Devaughn Anglin of Tampa, Lomax is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Kortney Jerry, 33. On April 15, Jerry was found shot to death at the Avesta Apartments at 2016 131st Ave. E in Tampa.

Anglin was arrested last week on charges of felony murder and attempted robbery.
