Seminole woman accused of trying to steal charity donations at Wendy's

TARPON SPRINGS — A Seminole woman was arrested Saturday after police say she tried to steal from a donation box at a Wendy's restaurant.

Tarpon Springs police were called to the Wendy's at 912 E Tarpon Ave. about 9:30 p.m. Saturday because a woman was trying to take money from the donation box for the Dave Thomas Foundation, a charity benefitting children in foster care set up by the late Wendy's founder.

The officer observed Jennifer Nicole Bevilacqua, 30, trying to pick the lock with a broken set of tweezers, according to an arrest report. Bevilacqua, who is also listed as Jennifer Nicole Kostilnik by the Pinellas County Jail, was charged with petit theft.

The box contained about $150.
