U-Haul trucks being stolen in Hillsborough, Polk counties

TAMPA — Detectives are investigating a string of U-Haul truck thefts in the last three months, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

From December through February, nearly a dozen 26-foot box trucks were stolen from U-Haul locations in Plant City, Seffner, Dover and Thonotosassa. In Polk County, similar thefts have been reported.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200, or Crime Stoppers anonymously and toll-free at 1-800-873-8477.
