Shooting, robbery of cab driver generates $1,000 reward

TAMPA — A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay for any information leading to an arrest in the armed robbery of a taxi driver who was shot in the chest this week.

The taxi driver, Annuel Delicieux, was dropping off a passenger just before 3 a.m. Tuesday on W Chestnut Street when at least two men approached the yellow Crown Victoria, pointed a handgun at him and demanded money.

Delicieux, 42, tossed money out the window, but was shot in the chest as he tried to drive away, police said earlier this week. He then crashed into a patrol car. The officer, realizing Delicieux was injured, called for an ambulance that took Delicieux to St. Joseph's Hospital.

Delicieux remained in stable condition Thursday, police said.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously toll-free at 1-800-873-8477.

  4. Romano: It all comes down to sewage in this mayoral race

    Local Government

    Well, poop.

Nothing else really matters, does it?

Schools, economic development, public safety? Pfft. The Rays stadium, affordable housing, the pier? Ack. When it comes to the St. Petersburg mayoral election, sewage is the yin, the yang and the yuck.

At Tuesday’s debate, incumbent Mayor Rick Kriseman said responsibility lies on him regarding the sewage crisis.
