ST. PETERSBURG — Police arrested a third person who was wanted in connection with a string of burglaries to homes undergoing fumigation this year. Michael Joseph Murphy, 36, was booked into the Pinellas County Jail shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday on charges of burglary and stealing in stolen property. Police say Murphy, listed as a transient, helped break into homes being tented by pest control properties. Twelve homes were burglarized under those circumstances in the past five months, according to police. Last week, authorities arrested Christopher Alexander, 25, and said they were looking for Murphy. Alexander's wife, accused of trying to sell some of the stolen property, also faces charges in the scheme. Murphy remained in jail Tuesday in lieu of $160,000 bail.
