ST. PETERSBURG — Police raided a house Wednesday night and said they found an estimated $200,000 worth of marijuana plants inside.

Detectives called it a "sophisticated grow house" operation with 36 fully grown marijuana plants inside the home at 5612 Burlington Avenue N.

The raid took place after 7 p.m. A 23-year-old man, Yankier De Posada, tried to flee from officers, according to police, but was captured while trying to run away. He was arrested on charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, resisting arrest without violence and trafficking in marijuana.

The jail status of De Posada 6351, of 99th Terrace N in Pinellas Park, was not known Thursday. Police said the investigation is continuing.
