St. Pete police say 18-year-old molested 8-year-old

ST. PETERSBURG — Police arrested an 18-year-old they said molested a young girl this past weekend.

Joshua Brown, of St. Petersburg, faces charges of lewd and lascivious molestation and sexual battery of a child under the age of 12. The victim is 8, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police said both the girl and Brown were staying overnight at the same home. At about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, police said, an adult in the home caught Brown touching the girl and called police.

Brown was being held Monday without bail in the Pinellas County Jail.
