St. Petersburg man accused of molesting 13-year-old girl

ST. PETERSBURG — Authorities have arrested a man they said molested a 13-year-old girl while the two watched a movie earlier this week.

Anthony Harold Johnson, 52, of St. Petersburg, faces charges of sexual battery and lewd and lascivious molestation.

Police said the incident happened about 4 a.m. Tuesday. The victim later told her mother, who called police.

Johnson remained in the Pinellas County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $40,000 bail.

    Snooty, who was the world's oldest living manatee, died in an accident, the South Florida Museum announced Sunday afternoon.

    Snooty, the Manatee County mascot, turns 60 on Monday. Hundreds of people came to the Parker Manatee Aquarium to see Snooty at his birthday party on Saturday. He was the first manatee to have a recorded birth date on July 21, 1948.
