St. Petersburg man accused of molesting 7-year-old girl

ST. PETERSBURG — Police arrested a man they said molested a 7-year-old girl he was caring for earlier this month.

Jonathan Townsend Trammell, 35, of St. Petersburg, was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on Tuesday afternoon. Police said Trammell molested the girl on March 3 at his home, 2222 45th Ave. N. The girl told her mother about the incident right away, and police began an investigation.

Detectives confronted Trammell, who denied touching the girl, police said.

Trammell, charged with sexual battery on a child, is being held without bail. He doesn't appear to have a criminal record in Florida.
